Uche Sparks Comfortable Palace Victory at Shelbourne.

Despite embarking on their maiden European adventure, Oliver Glasner's side are learning at a rapid pace. Missing star players like striker Jean-Philippe Mateta and wing-back Daniel Muñoz, the Eagles left Dublin with a comfortable result that all but secures them a place in the Conference League playoffs.

A further three points in their next match against Finnish KuPS should be enough to secure direct passage to the last 16, especially after a prior setback against Strasbourg.

Fringe Players Grasp the Moment

This occasion offered a chance for some of Palace's fringe talent to impress. Christantus Uche, in only his second start after joining on loan from Getafe, notched the scoring with a well-taken goal. Striker Eddie Nketiah contributed a second, finding the net for the second game in succession.

A Shelbourne team that had finished their league season were no match against a mostly second-string Palace lineup. The Londoners were already weakened by the news that Mateta and Muñoz are out with leg injuries.

Shelbourne were clinging on desperately. Full-back Kameron Ledwidge was fortunate to escape a booking for two agricultural tackles on Yeremy Pino, before Chris Richards struck the woodwork with a powerful header from a corner.

The match was effectively over eight minutes from half-time. Yeremy Pino weaved past some weak challenges before coolly slotting a shot past goalkeeper Wessel Speel to make it 3-0.

Following the break, manager Oliver Glasner took the chance to withdraw key individuals like Kamada and Wharton. Substitute Romain Esse almost scoring with his first touch, only to see his shot blocked.

Esse was incredibly unlucky later on, seeing one shot strike off each posts before being gathered on the line. Uche then blazed a sitter of a chance, showing there is still room for improvement in his game.

A solitary worry for Palace was a late knock to Justin Devenny, who limped off. This paved the way for 17-year-old striker Benji Casey to earn his first-team debut, capping an otherwise perfect night for the visiting side.
